Standard Presentation: This piece is presented inside an organza bag with a jewellery care card and a silica bag. This is placed inside a sturdy and high quality matchbox style box to prevent damage during shipping. This is then finished off with a silver tie and a business card. Tarnish during transit is unlikely, due to careful packaging, but possible as I can not guarantee the environment through which the parcel will travel. If this does occur, I will be happy to provide a specialist cleaning cloth for you for no extra cost. If your item arrives damaged for any other reason, please contact me to discuss the best resolution. Please remember that any shipping damage or losses must be reported within 3 days of your piece arriving.
Gift Messages: As we do not include invoices with purchases (as a receipt is automatically emailed to you when you checkout) any gift message details left will be printed on a sticker for you to apply to your own tag/wrapping.
Gift Wrapping: Our gift wrapping is currently of a Honey Bee theme, and includes a wrapped ribbon along with a handmade card and envelope. An example of our gift wrapping is shown in the pictures of this listing. If a gift message is left with gift wrapping included, this will be printed on the inside of the card. If no message is left, the card will be left blank for your own message to be added at a later date. If you upgrade to one of our luxurious hinged suede gift boxes, these include our gift wrapping service at no extra charge.
Ready to post within: This piece will be ready to post within 7-10 working days during busy times. Most items are posted much quicker than this, and if you need your item for a specific date - let us know!
CARE INFORMATION FOR YOUR PIECE:
How should I care for my Songs of Ink and Steel pieces: Your pieces should be handled with care at all times. Always undo the clasp to remove bracelets. All sterling silver will tarnish over time, but it will happen much faster when it comes into contact with agents such as perfume, salty air, sulphur, skin creams, hairspray, chlorine and acidic skin ph. The amount of tarnishing (oxidation) that occurs is dependent on the skin and care habits of the wearer. Tarnishing is therefore not a manufacturing fault. For rose gold pieces, the warm pink-hued color may intensify with age due to tarnishing, adding to the piece's beautiful, vintage appeal. It is normal for finishing to wear off over time and is considered normal wear and tear. Oxidisation will also disappear over time. This is considered normal wear and tear and is not a defect. We also recommend that you do not wear your jewellery whilst bathing, whilst in bed or during sporting activities.
How should I store my Songs of Ink and Steel pieces? Your piece should be stored away from natural sunlight and heat, in a protective (lined) jewellery box or a tarnish-resistant pouch (you can purchase either of these from us if you do not already have one). It can also be stored in a plastic zip lock bag made of Mylar or polyethylene. Never use polyvinyl plastic bags, such as bin liners as they contain sulphur compounds, which will make sterling silver tarnish faster. Do not store your piece in the bathroom. Please note that our Matchbox gift boxes are not made for long-term storage as they are not airtight.
How should I clean and care for my Songs of Ink and Steel pieces? In order to care for our products, we recommend using a polishing cloth regularly to prevent the natural process of tarnishing. Clean your jewellery using lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush, but ensure that your jewellery is never submerged. Use of silver polishing liquids, silver dips, ultrasonic cleaning and a tumbler should be avoided. We also strongly advise against exposing the jewellery to harsh chemicals, including ammonia, bleach, chlorine and salt water.
